She earned a Doctor of Medicine degree with distinction from The Carver College of Medicine at the University of Iowa in 1999. She completed her internal medicine residency training at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. She went on to complete her fellowship training in cardiovascular disease with on focus cardiac imaging. It was there that she spent a year of research in the area of cardiac resuscitation and was recognized at the American Heart Association in 2004 as a finalist for the young investigator prize in the area of cardiopulmonary, perioperative, and critical care research.

Dr. Boddicker completed her fellowship at the University of Iowa and later went on to obtain further certifications in the area of Advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology, echocardiography and nuclear cardiology. She joined Essentia Health in 2005 as a non-invasive, imaging cardiologist.

Since her arrival she has acted several leadership roles and has been the medical director of the heart failure disease management program since 2006. It is through this multi-disciplinary program, along with her colleagues, try to improve the delivery of care for those patients with heart failure. In addition, she continues to work on various quality programs in the delivery of care to the heart failure patient in both the clinic and inpatient setting. She as acted as the principle investigator on several research studies aimed at improving treatment of the cardiac patients with this condition. More recently, she has taken over the role in structural heart imaging, aiding in those minimally invasive procedures for the treatment of heart valve problems.

Dr. Boddicker treats all general cardiac conditions. Her focus area is non-invasive cardiac imaging and stress testing as well as the treatment of those patients with heart failure and pulmonary hypertension.
