Junewai Reoma, MD, is a highly accomplished cardiothoracic surgeon with a distinguished career in medicine and military service. He graduated from the University of Michigan Medical School and completed his surgical residency at the University of Michigan Health System in Ann Arbor. During his time there, he also undertook a research fellowship focused on artificial organs and critical care. His advanced training continued with a cardiothoracic surgery fellowship at the University of Florida Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville, followed by specialized cardiac surgery training at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore.
For a decade, Dr. Reoma has served as a military surgeon, practicing at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. His expertise lays in complex cardiac procedures, including mitral valve repair, aortic valve repair, aortic root and aneurysm surgeries, coronary artery bypass grafting using arterial grafts, and atrial fibrillation surgery. He is also skilled in performing transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), a minimally invasive heart procedure.
Dr. Reoma holds a board certification from the American Board of Thoracic Surgery and is recognized as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
