Amelia Schurke, MD, is a dedicated family medicine physician at Essentia Health who is passionate about providing comprehensive, patient-centered care. She was drawn to Essentia Health by the opportunity to practice full-spectrum family medicine alongside a team of wonderful coworkers. Originally from the Twin Cities, Dr. Schurke has always loved traveling "up North" with friends and family, making this region feel like home.

Dr. Schurke chose family medicine because it allows her to build meaningful relationships with patients and support them through all stages of life. She values the opportunity to share her medical knowledge and collaborate with patients to achieve healthier, more fulfilling lives. While she enjoys all aspects of family medicine, she has a special interest in pregnancy and birth, as well as caring for postpartum parents and those desiring pregnancy. She is also passionate about pediatric care and supporting patients experiencing perimenopause or menopause.

Fluent in both English and Spanish, Dr. Schurke is a compassionate and collaborative physician who strives to empower her patients with education and understanding. She believes in working together to achieve the best outcomes for health and wholeness.

Outside of work, Dr. Schurke enjoys Nordic skiing, trail running, backpacking, knitting, and reading. She shares her adventures with her 5-year-old golden doodle, who is her loyal companion on the trails.
