Nicholas Cook-Rostie, MD

Dr. Nicholas Cook-Rostie, MD, is a family medicine physician who chose to practice in Moose Lake, Minnesota, to provide full-spectrum care and positively impact the community. He is drawn to Essentia Health’s mission and values, which aligned with his dedication to patient-centered care. Moose Lake offered him the opportunity to practice medicine in a way that felt meaningful and connected to the community. 

Dr. Cook-Rostie completed the Essentia Health Family Medicine OB Fellowship, which deepened his professional ties to the region. He chose family medicine because of its broad scope, allowing him to care for patients at every stage of life, from infancy to old age. He particularly valued the challenge of ensuring patients had access to high-quality care close to home. 

Building trust and open communication with his patients is central to Dr. Cook-Rostie’s approach. He practices evidence-based medicine and works to create a welcoming environment where patients felt supported and empowered in their healthcare decisions. 

Outside of medicine, Dr. Cook-Rostie is passionate about staying active and enjoying the outdoors. He completed multiple marathons and an Ironman, reflecting his commitment to perseverance and personal growth. Whether running, biking, or spending time in nature, he embraces an active lifestyle that balanced his professional and personal life.
