Naomi Turner, MD

Naomi Turner, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon at Essentia Health, specializing in geriatric orthopedics. She is passionate about providing personalized care for older adults, focusing on arthritis treatment, joint replacement, osteoporosis management, and fracture prevention. As the Medical Director for Bone Health in the East Brainerd Lakes area, she is dedicated to improving the quality of life for her patients through compassionate and collaborative care. 

Born and raised in Bloomington, Minnesota, Dr. Turner has always felt a strong connection to her home state. She spent her childhood summers at her family’s cabin on Grave Lake, just east of Brainerd, where she developed a deep love for the area. After earning her medical degree from the University of Minnesota, she pursued orthopedic training in Portland, Oregon, followed by a fellowship in adult reconstruction (hip and knee replacement) at Washington University in St. Louis. Despite living in other states and abroad, Minnesota has always been home, and she is thrilled to join the Brainerd Lakes community. 

Dr. Turner was drawn to orthopedic surgery during medical school, where she fell in love with the biomechanics of the musculoskeletal system and the hands-on nature of the field. She values building meaningful connections with her patients and working alongside them to make decisions that improve their health and function. 

Outside of work, Dr. Turner enjoys playing volleyball, mountain biking, hiking, and camping with her husband, Carl, and their rescue dog, Hertz. She also loves cooking, baking, and exploring new hobbies like pickleball.
