Nancy Sudak, MD

Dr. Nancy Sudak is the Chief Well-Being Officer and the Director of the Integrative Health department at Essentia Health. She spent her childhood in Cleveland, OH, and received a BA in English at Kenyon College. She attended medical school at Case Western Reserve University and went on to complete a family medicine residency in Duluth, MN. She is board certified in family medicine.

She began working at Essentia Health in 2016, and with her dyad partner, Kathy Beeksma, RN, BSN, developed an innovative insurance-based model of Integrative Health. The department includes consultative care from a number of integrative clinicians, nutritionist services and acupuncture. She has been the Chief Well-Being Officer since 2021.

Dr. Sudak was both a founding Diplomate and executive director of the American Board of Integrative Holistic Medicine and the founding CEO of the Academy of Integrative Health & Medicine. She is an Institute for Functional Medicine Certified Practitioner. Her work has included contributions to several textbooks, and she is a member of the editorial advisory board for Integrative Medicine: A Clinician’s Journal.

Dr. Sudak lives in Duluth with her husband, and has two grown children.
