Joseph Marion, MD

Dr. Joseph Marion is a board-certified radiologist who specializes in both diagnostic and interventional procedures. He joined Essentia Health in 2022. Originally from North Dakota, Dr. Marion graduated from Hettinger High School. He went on to complete his undergraduate degree at Concordia College in Moorhead, medical degree at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, and residency training at the Mayo Clinic.

Dr. Marion provides a range of interventional radiology (IR) services, including tissue biopsies, vascular access and maintenance, and fluid drainage. He is dedicated to offering the latest minimally invasive treatments for many common conditions to the people in North Dakota and northwestern Minnesota. Some of the treatments he provides include:

• Uterine artery embolization for uterine fibroids and adenomyosis
• Prostatic artery embolization for urinary problems caused by an enlarged prostate (BPH)
• Endovascular treatments for poor blood flow to the legs due to peripheral arterial disease
• Treatment for venous disease causing chronic pelvic pain
• Ablation for large thyroid nodules
• Kyphoplasty for painful vertebral compression fractures
• Treatment for knee arthritis pain
• Spinal cord stimulation for diabetic nerve pain that doesn't respond to medication
