Essentia Health offers same-day care for a wide range of medical needs—no appointment needed. Your choice of care depends on where you live and the severity of your condition. We provide three levels of care within our same-day care—basic, intermediate, and advanced.

Same-Day Primary Care
Basic Care | We're providing safe in-person care for chronic condition management, general medical issues, preventative care, immunizations, a variety of surgeries, screenings, and other diagnostic tests.

Walk-in Care
Intermediate Care | Get care for illnesses and injuries that are not life-threatening but may need X-rays and/or lab tests that require a blood draw. Care is provided by doctors, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants. Hours vary by location.

Urgent Care

Orthopedic Urgent Care
Intermediate Care | Get care for sprains, strains, or broken bones (no bones sticking out of skin). Care is provided by doctors and physician assistants. This service is currently only offered in Duluth, MN.

Emergency Medicine
Advanced Care | Get care for serious or life-threatening illnesses and injuries that require immediate attention. Care is provided by doctors and a team of medical professionals. This service is available 24/7 at Essentia Health hospitals.
